RAS PENCO PREPARES FOR IRIE JAMBOREE AND NEW VIDEO

Machel Miami 3 NEW YORK, NY (RHONA FOX, INC.)  Reggae sensation Ras Penco has enjoyed a tremendous run this year, first hitting number one in Jamaica with his single "Thousand Miles," and will cap off the summer on an even higher note with exciting performances, a new hit single in hand and a video shoot in the works.

The culture crooner is preparing to return for his second bout at New York's reggae summer staple Irie Jamboree, put on by Irie Jam Radio 93.5 FM in the New York Tri-State region, on Sunday, September 6.

"It feels good to return to Irie Jamboree because I'm coming back on a different level," reveals the young star. "More people are familiar with my single now and know who Ras Penco is. It's going to be good  to come to New York and perform for all the people who will come out for the big Labor Day celebration."

Directly after Irie Jamboree, Penco will head to Los Angeles to shoot the video for his new hit single, the romantic pop ballad "Be By My Side." The video is sure to propel the tune even more, as it is already receiving airplay in Jamaica.

"It's a wonderful feeling to be doing my second video," smiles Penco. "I'm still holding the vibe of  'Thousand Miles,' and want to give the people that same energy and sentiment. It's going to be even better."

Penco's video for "Thousand Miles" continues to enjoy rotation in and out of the Caribbean, including on BETj and VH1 Soul. With the crossover sound of "Be By My Side" and the Hollywood-based production team at the helm of the upcoming video, he's sure to have another major hit on his hands. NEW YORK, NY (RHONA FOX, INC.) - R&B/Hip-hop artist Black Dada is featured in today's PEOPLE section of the Miami Herald (see below). The Strictly Business/Universal Republic artist has been breaking from the studio to make himself familiar to media as he puts finishing touches on his debut album, due out later this year.

Black Dada has received tremendous buzz nationally with his breakout hit "Imma Zoe," which most recently landed the singer on Billboard's Top 100 R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The remix saw a sizzling collaboration with Rick Ross and Birdman and has propelled the track out of Florida, even garnering airplay on New York's HOT97. The videos for both singles were shot in early August by director Gil Green and will soon hit airwaves.

Black Dada has performed the hit tune on BET's 106 & Park twice this year, and hopes to return to premier the videos to his fans. "It was crazy shooting my first major video," he reveals. "Working alongside Gil Green, Rick Ross and Birdman was a great experience and I can't wait for everyone to see them." He is also featured in upcoming issues of Ozone Magazine, Hip Hop Weekly, Scoop, Lumiere and Jamrock magazines, just to name a few.

Celebrating his success by giving back, Black Dada and the Strictly Business (SBR) family recently donated $5,000 to the Radio Lollipop International Children's Charity, partnering up with DJ Laz and Miami's POWER96 for the Lollipop Radiothon at the Miami's Children's Hospital on August 11-12. "I feel fortunate that I'm in the position to help acquire the breakthrough technology that will help kids while they are in the hospital, and hopefully make their stay there a better one."

REGGAE ARTIST RAS PENCO

READY FOR SUMFEST, RELEASES NEW SINGLE

                                        RasPenco

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK, NY (RHONA FOX, INC.) -  Reggae sensation Ras Penco is making the rounds on local and international airwaves, as his hit single "Thousand Miles" has been garnering airplay on radio and television throughout the Caribbean and North America. The single went to #1 in Jamaica in April, is currently #2 in the Cayman Islands, and the video has been in regular rotation on BETJ and VH1 Soul ever since.

Now as the summer concert circuit heats up, Penco will be taking centerstage at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Friday, July 24. Billed as "International Night," Penco will be sharing the stage with the likes of Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson and Jazmine Sullivan. Sumfest is touted as the best reggae show on Earth and Penco is one of the few reggae artists that will be bringing its authentic sounds to the thousands of international tourists who journey to Sumfest each year.

"It's a great accomplishment for me to be performing for the first time at Reggae Sumfest," states Penco. "Sharing the stage with Ne-Yo on 'International Night' and representing reggae music on that line-up and that stage is a big step for me."

Back with his new single "Most High," Penco composes a more cultural theme than the romantic "Thousand Miles," in a timeless conscious tune that laments the guidance and protection offered by the Rastafari faith. The single is already climbing the charts and finding fans in reggae aficionados everywhere. "It's a prayer for me now to further my career and for Jah to guide me along my journey," reveals Penco. "It's doing well in Jamaica, as well as the U.K. and Canada and I'm looking forward to performing for my fans there soon."

With two consecutive hit singles, Ras Penco is tapped to be the future of reggae music and someone reggae fans can count on to deliver solid songs that define the
soulful genre. Stay updated with artist news and tour information by logging on to www.myspace.com/raspenco.

TEFLON freed of all charges!!!

Popular dancehall entertainer Shaniel Watson, aka Teflon, was freed of charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition when he appeared in the Port Maria Circuit Court yesterday. High court judge Bertram Morris dismissed all charges against the accused, citing several discrepancies in the evidence against him. During his summation, Judge Bertram Morris said that "the practice of tampering with evidence is such a sore point" and added he had no choice but to give the benefit of the doubt to the entertainer. He warned the accused to be careful in the future.

Allegations against Watson are that on August 28, 2008, a team of police from Area Two headquarters went to his studio in an area known as 'Yard A Love' near Oracabessa, St Mary. It was further alleged that the entertainer was spotted with a black strap bag over his shoulder when he was accosted and searched. During the search, a .45 pistol loaded with seven rounds along with an iPod and camera was taken from the bag. Watson was later arrested and charged.
